  1. Day 1: Thursday Arrive Mumbai

    You will arrive at the Delhi International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a representative will meet you and you will be transferred to your palace-hotel where you will overnight the following two weeks.

    After a  magnificent dinner you will enjoy the fabulous hotel.

  2. Day 2: Friday Mumbai

    Today we will visit Mumbai.

    We will start with the famous Gateway of India, a monument built during the British Raj, at the beginning of the 20th century, which is located on the promenade of the port of Bombay, facing the Arabian Sea, next to our magnificent hotel.

    We will also go to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum, one of the leading art and history museums in India. The building, that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018, houses a collection of 70,000 historical and artistic works that reflect the history of the human race from the Stone Age to contemporary times.

    And we couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit Bollywood Studios Film City.

    Again we will spend the night in our palace hotel in Mumbai.

  3. Day 3: Saturday Mumbai

    Today we will take advantage of the morning to continue visiting Mumbai until 6:00 p.m., when we will leave for Vadodara on our private luxury train.

    We will go to Elephanta Island, in the port of Bombay, to visit the Elephanta Caves, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

    It is a complex of temples, located in caves, that were built between the years 810 and 1260.

    On our return we will go to Mani Bhavan, known as Gandhi's house, since it was there where Gandhi stayed when he went to Mumbai and it was his center of operations. This two-story colonial-style house that was converted into a museum in 1955.

    Finally, we will head to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal Station.

    There we will be welcomed into the famous and luxurious Deccan Odyssey, which will be our mobile hotel for the next few days.

    Once settled in our cabins, the train will leave Mumbai towards Vadodara.

  4. Day 4: Sunday Vadodra

    Arrive at the capital of the Gaekwads, Vadodara, which is situated along the Vishwamitri river. Post breakfast proceed to visit Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. This famous UNESCO World Heritage site is the only complete and untouched pre-Mughal Islamic city of India. Witness its impressive landscape, which consists of unexcavated archaeological, historic and living cultural heritage. Explore the Jama Masjid (Great Mosque) built in 1513. It represents a seamless blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture, which later became a model for mosque architecture in India.

    Drive back to Vadodara for a nice lunch on board the Deccan Odyssey. After lunch, head to the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, originally built as a school for the Maharaja's children. Art lovers will especially love this place! You can view a varied range of art displayed in the museum, including a collection of the Raja Ravi Varma's paintings, along with other renowned European Masters and a collection of sculptures in bronze and marble.

    At the resplendent Lukshmi Villas Palace, enjoy high tea with your fellow travelers. Built in 1890, this palace is the residence of the Royal family even today.

    Renowned for being four times the size of Buckingham Palace, its awe-inspiring Durbar hall boasts of a Venetian mosaic floor, Belgian stained glass windows and walls with elaborate mosaic decorations. The palace is also home to an extraordinary collection of Fellici's old armory and sculptures in bronze, marble & terracotta. Relish delicacies from the Royal kitchen, and witness a folk performance of the region.

  5. Day 4: Monday Udaipur

    The Deccan Odyssey will reach Udaipur in the morning. Known as the City of Lakes, Udaipur is easily one of the most romantic cities of India. Located on the shores of the placid Lake Pichola, it is surrounded by scenic hills. Enjoy breakfast as you take in the striking landscape of the Aravali hills.

    You will then disembark to visit the famous City Palace. It's the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, and features fretted balconies, scalloped arches and cupolas, which also houses the impressive Crystal gallery. Complete the tour of this magnificent city with a boat cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola.

    Return to the Deccan Odyssey for lunch.

    Later get on a walking tour through the Old City of Udaipur. Shop and explore the brilliant variety of handicrafts ranging from puppets, handmade papers, wall hangings, toys, cloth lanterns, jewellery, paintings, painted wooden boxes, pottery, and terracotta sculptures.

    Return to Deccan Odyssey for a relaxed evening, and enjoy dinner as we depart for Jodhpur.

  6. Day 6: Tuesday Jodhpur

    In the morning, the Deccan Odyssey will arrive at the wonderful city of Jodhpur. Do you know that it is also known as the Blue City? This name comes from the vibrant color of the blue painted houses that surround the Mehrangarh Fort.

    The configuration of this city is pearl-like in the middle of the stark desert and we will be able to witness the best architecture of the Rajput era, which is famous for numerous forts and palaces.

    We will visit the Mehrangarh fortress, which dominates the city, and extends over an area of ​​5 km, where. There we will discover extensive patios and intricate carvings that adorn this architectural wonder. Also, the incredible view of palanquins, paintings, costumes, weapons and the arts and crafts of a bygone era in the museum.

    We will also take a tuk tuk ride to go to the Clock Tower, Ghanta Ghar, in the historic center, which is a nerve center of the city, since the most popular market in the city is held every day nearby, the Sardar Bazaar.
    Return to the Deccan Odyssey to head to another magical destination.

  7. Day 7: Wednesday Jaipur

    Celebrated for the triumphs of its proud Rajputs, Jaipur - the City of Victory - lies amidst the rugged Aravali Hills. Formidable forts, beautiful palaces, mansions and gardens further elevate its beauty. At one time, royal parades and processions, in all their splendor, adorned these palaces and fortresses. The city is an oasis of colors in the desert, and you will witness a timeless charm that comes together with the bazaars of Jaipur and its people.

    After breakfast we will go to the Palace of the Winds. Also known as the Hawa Mahal, it is famous for its elaborate pink sandstone carving and an exceptional view of the city.

    Next we will visit the Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory built in the 18th century by Sawai Jai Singh. An astonishing achievement for its time, this observatory still manages to give accurate readings to this day.

    Located next to it is the famous City Palace of Jaipur. This extraordinary complex is known for exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doors.

    And finally we'll head to Amber Fort, Maharaja Mansingh's 17th-century masterpiece, overlooking the stunning Maota Lake. The fortress is a large complex of halls, courtyards and rooms decorated with impressive paintings, precious stones and mirrors.

    After your full-day tour of royal Jaipur, we will return to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner.

  8. Day 8: Thursday Agra

    On our arrival in Agra prepare to marvel. This city is also a testimony to the greatness of the Mughal dynasty.

    After breakfast on board, we will explore India's most admired and well-known architectural wonder: the Taj Mahal. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a loving gift to his late beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, it certainly deserves the admiration it receives. The construction of this colossal monument is as much a fable as the building itself. It is believed that nearly 20,000 men were employed over 22 years to build this unprecedented mausoleum. Additionally, the exquisite white marble was brought from 200 miles away by caravans of elephants and camels.

    Next we will have lunch at a hotel in the city.

    Another must-see in Agra is its fort, another excellent example of Mughal architecture. The present structure owes its origins to Emperor Akbar who had his first red sandstone buildings erected on the eastern bank of the Yamuna River. Later, the notable marble private chambers and mosque were added to the structure by his grandson Shah Jahan, while the outer walls were included by Aurangzeb. Visit the Diwan-e-Am, the "Hall of Public Audience" and the Royal Pavilions while you are here.

    We cannot leave Agra without seeing Kalakriti, Cultural and Convention Center and area where crafts are concentrated.

    At the end of the day we will return to our train for dinner and continue our journey to Sawai Madhopur.

  9. Day 9: Friday Sawai Madhopur - Ranthambore National Park

    Situated in Rajasthan, Sawai Madhopur is the alight point for the celebrated Ranthambore National Park. This place is bears testimony to India's constant efforts towards tiger conservation. The park is one of the best tiger reserves of India, and the perfect spot to view majestic animals in their natural habitat.

    Enjoy an early morning breakfast before you set out for your game drive.

    In addition to tigers, Ranthambore is home to many other species of animals. This includes herds of Chital and Sambhar deer, wild board, Nilgai antelopes, chinkara gazelles, sloth bears, along with a few leopards and crocodiles. Extensive bird life, such as jungle fowl, partridges, quails, the crested serpent eagle, woodpeckers and flycatchers are also a part of Ranthambore. There are also water birds like storks, ducks and geese at the lakes and waterholes. If you're lucky, you will spot a tiger chasing down its prey around the lakes or maybe lounging in the sun after it has enjoyed its meal.

    After this exciting jungle trip, return to the royal Deccan Odyssey where you can relax with a drink before dinner on board, as the Deccan Odyssey sets off for Delhi.

  10. Day 10: Saturday Delhi

    Arrival in Delhi!

    In the morning, after breakfast, our stay on board this magnificent train will come to an end at the Delhi railway station.

    After saying goodbye to the Deccan Odyssey, we will begin our visit to Delhi with the India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President's Residence.

    Lunch at local restaurant followed by visit to Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila. Surrounded by a wall, inside we can find several buildings, such as a covered market (Chatta Chowk), the War Museum or Naqqar khana (the Drum House), the main Palace or Khas Marhal, the public and private audience halls, and others more.

  11. Day 11: Sunday Delhi

    Today we will continue visiting and discovering the wonderful Delhi.

    We will be in Humayun's Tomb, a complex of buildings of Mughal architecture in which, in addition to the main tomb, we can find other tombs, mosques and various buildings.

    We will also approach the main Sikh temple in the city, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, which we will recognize by its particular golden dome.

    We cannot leave Delhi without visiting the Raj Ghat, a memorial in memory of the Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi. This monument stands on the site where Gandhi was cremated and is made up of a black marble slab with an eternal flame.

    And we will also have a moment to go to the Qutab Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world and the oldest Islamic monument in Delhi, with a total height of 72.5 meters.

    Back at our hotel we can enjoy our last night in Delhi.

  12. Day 12: Monday Return to home

    End of our magnificent trip in which we will move from Delhi to Mumbai to take our return flight.
